1949年4月25日、神奈川県横浜市に生まれる。幼少期から邦画もアメリカ映画もヨーロッパ映画もジャンルも問わず、映画三昧の日々を過ごす。中学3年生の時に親に内緒で応募した、フジテレビのドラマ『天下の若者』のオーディションに4000人の中から合格し、１年間レギュラー出演を果たす。高校時代は数多くの舞台に足を運ぶ日々を過ごす一方で、銀座のシャンソン・カフェ「銀巴里」のステージに立つことも。高校卒業後、桐朋学園大学短期大学部（現、桐朋学園芸術短期大学）に進学し、フランス・パリのジャック・ルコック演劇学校（現、ジャック・ルコック国際演劇学校）への留学を経て帰国。劇団四季に入団し、『ウエスト・サイド物語』『お気に召すまま』などの舞台に立つ。退団後は舞台活動と並行しながら、日活ロマンポルノの世界に飛び込み、数多くの出演を果たす。1982年には芸名を“中丸新将”と改める。以後、民放テレビドラマ、NHK大河ドラマ、映画など多数出演。二枚目俳優から次第に、インテリ系悪役でお馴染みとなり、名脇役としてのポジションを築いていく。また、独特の声が買われて声優の仕事も多く、ディズニー・アニメーション『美女と野獣』の吹き替えや、テレビゲーム・OVAとして展開する『サクラ大戦』シリーズなどに参加するほか、関西テレビ「サタうま!」では度々ゲスト出演し、「サスペンス理論」と称した独自のサイン理論で馬券予想を展開して話題となる。近年では、テレビドラマだけでなく、海外映画作品や自主映画作品、Amazonプライムビデオなどの配信ドラマ、小劇場作品などにも出演するなど活動の場を広げている。
数々の事務所にお世話になり、2024年4月、芸歴60年を機にフリーランスとして新たな俳優人生をスタートした。

Nakamaru Shinsho
Nakamaru Shinsho was born on April 25, 1949, in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Since childhood, he immersed himself in a wide range of films, including Japanese, American, and European cinema. At the age of 15, he secretly auditioned for Fuji TV’s drama “Tenka no Wakamono” and was selected from 4,000 applicants, leading to a year-long regular role. During high school, he frequented numerous stages while also performing at the Chanson Café “Ginza Paris” in Ginza. After graduating from high school, he attended the Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music and studied abroad at Ecole internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Upon returning to Japan, he joined the Shiki Theatre Company, appearing in productions like “West Side Story” and “As You Like It.” After leaving the company, he ventured into the world of Nikkatsu Roman Porno films, accumulating numerous roles. In 1982, he changed his stage name to Nakamaru Shinsho. Since then, he has appeared in various TV dramas, NHK Taiga dramas, and films, transitioning from a leading actor to a notable character actor known for intellectual villain roles. His distinctive voice has also led to many voice acting opportunities, including dubbing Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” and participating in the “Sakura Wars” series as both a TV game and OVA voice actor. He has also made guest appearances on Kansai TV’s “Saturu ma!” and gained attention for his unique horse racing prediction theory called “Suspense Theory.” In recent years, he has expanded his career to include international films, independent films, streaming dramas on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, and small theater productions. After being affiliated with numerous agencies, he embarked on a new journey as a freelancer in April 2024, marking 60 years in the entertainment industry.
